It’s summertime! I don’t know about you, but we are overflowing with fresh fruit over here.  I finally made it to the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market yesterday… and aside from being a little embarrassed about how long it took me to actually get to the Hillcrest Farmer’s Market (yes I have lived in San Diego for over 2 years… I just like to sleep in on Sundays… don’t judge!), I am now laden with the best fruits known to man.  But seriously, if you live in San Diego or are visiting- it’s definitely the Farmer’s Market to attend.
And with all that fresh fruit comes this “recipe” for fresh fruit and yogurt parfaits.
I am including “recipe” in quotations because I feel this is less of a recipe and more of an inspiration/ idea for a fruit vehicle.  I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love the combo of fruit, granola, and yogurt.  Honestly, the “parfait” idea is just because it looks more attractive.  Pile it all in a bowl for me in the ugliest way possible and I will still be happy.Â
For the yogurt delivery system I used plain yogurt, but sweetened it with a little bit of honey.  I love, love, love honey in yogurt.  You can adjust the sweetness to your liking and it works really well with that tang from plain yogurt. If you prefer your yogurt plain- rock on! you lucky non- sugar addict you.  For other sweetening ideas, I also imagine that mixing the yogurt with a little bit of fruit jam or simply purchasing flavored yogurt would also work well.
And the granola. Â Beautiful, crunchy, granola. Â Can’t be beat. Â Enjoy!Â

I’ve made something similar before when I had a lot of people at the house, once on the morning of my daughter’s wedding. I’ve also seen a photo of a giant layered parfait made in a trifle bowl that is really pretty!
A trifle bowl sounds genius! That would be the perfect idea for serving this at a brunch party!
Parfaits just make eating fruit and yogurt feel more fun! Love this!
YES! I am definitely channeling my inner small child who will only eat health food if creatively displayed in front of me… 0:-)
Reaching for screen! The perfect breakfast/snack option!
Thank you Tonya!
OK … I’ll admit it. I have a weakness for desert … there, I’ve said it 🙂
