The Gourmet Gourmand is all about delicious and beautifully presented real food for real people. As an unabashed omnivore and lover of indulgences such as chocolate and cheese, I am committed to creating recipes that reflect my philosophy of eating. No food is forbidden, variety is queen, and even healthy and convenient foods deserve to taste wonderful.
And bottom line: every recipe is tested, perfected, and enjoyed by your’s truly.
I started The Gourmet Gourmand back in 2015 as a place to organize my recipe experiments – a longtime foodie and hobbyist home-cook, I was spending ridiculous amounts of time tweaking recipes for my favorite meals and wanted to have a place to record my results. Little did I know that my little virtual recipe box would turn into a catalog of hundreds of recipes and bring in thousands of readers from around the world!
In developing recipes for The Gourmet Gourmand, I draw inspiration from travel, restaurants, and remarkable meals I’ve shared with friends and family. My food photography draws on my visual arts background – I am a oil painter by training (although I will be the first to admit that photography is not as easy as it looks!)
When I’m not making a huge mess in the kitchen, you can find me at my day job in healthcare, taking photographs, painting in my art studio, harassing our extra-large cat Erwin, and playing with our son Henry.
